Pressure Sewer System Odours
Pressure sewer systems are a great way to connect houses to a network over difficult terrain or over long distances. They eliminate the need for a central pumping station, which can be a cost saver, but unfortunately they can also commonly experience odour issues, leading to complaints and a detrimental effect on infrastructure.
The most proven method of dealing with pressure sewer system odours is through chemical dosing of iron salts, namely ferrous or ferric chloride. This approach has the advantage of reducing the potential for odour complaints from the pressure sewer discharge point, as well as treating the source of the odour and reducing the possibility of corrosion in the system.
